In this article we present some results of the scientific initiation research, approved by the Research Department of the Federal University of Amapá (DPq / Unifap) and the Foundation for Research Support of Amapá / Fapeap, started in 2014 with an expected duration of two years, The Municipal School of Primary Education Goiás - located in the black community of the Coração District belonging to the Municipality of Macapá-AP. This study was developed with the objective of analyzing whether and how Law no. 10,639 / 2003 was being implemented at EMEF Goiás. We used as methodological procedure the Qualitative Research, in view of the need to deepen the understanding of the studied phenomena. We used as instruments for the data collection the semi-structured interview, participant observation, questionnaire and form. Regarding the results of this first stage of the study, we would like to point out that although Law No. 10,639 / 2003 is publicized in pedagogical projects and oral discourses of the school community, the study revealed, among other findings, that employees With the research, do not have knowledge and / or theoretical deepening in the content of the Law such as the National Curricular Guidelines for its implementation, such as Federal Resolution No. 08/2012, which deals with the National Curricular Guidelines for Quilombola Education in Basic Education, and Resolution State no. 26/2016-CEE / PA which deals with this same theme. Thus, the approach of ethnic-racial relations aimed at overcoming racism in school, due to the lack of formation of the school community in this area of knowledge, is done in a decontextualized, punctual, incipient way.
