Keywords:

This article is the result of reflections from the course named Studies of Educational Problems in the Amazon of the Graduate Program in Education in the Amazon-PGEDA-Associação Plena em Rede-EDUCANORTE and of the Research Group Education, Interculturality and Ethnic-Ethnic Relations races/UNIFAP. The aim is to analyze how education for ethnic-racial relations is experienced in the State of Amapá, in the extreme north of Brazil. The remarks made here permeate the reality of racism in the context of Brazilian education, the historical relevance of Law 10.639/03 and the resistance actions of the Black Movements in the Country. By means of a critical analysis on how education for ethnic-racial relations is experienced in the State of Amapá, it was found that, when dealing with the implementation of anti-racist legislation in Amapá, specially speaking about Law 10.639/03, there is still much more to be done. It can be inferred because after twenty years of the publication of the referred Law, the overcoming of racism constitutes a collective challenge, often present in educational practices.
