This article presents the report of the celebration alluding to the National Day of Black Awareness, which took place on November 9, 2022, at Faculdades EST. In Brazil, the twentieth of November is celebrated as the National Day of Black Awareness. The establishment of this date is a result of the organization of Black Movement groups in Brazil, which aims to recover the liberation movement of enslaved people led by Zumbi dos Palmares, intensify the fight against racial discrimination and social inequality and awaken the Brazilian population's perception about the economic and cultural contribution of enslaved black women and black men in the formation of the country. Thus, the 20th of November became more important and significant for the black population than the 13th of May, the day the Lei Áurea was signed. At the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil (IECLB), the celebration of the National Black Awareness Day began to take place through the initiative of Pastor Dr. Peter T. Nash and the Black Men and Women’s Group at Faculdades EST. In 2018, with the approval of the Missionary Goals of the IECLB 2019-2024, mainly based on Goal 3, the celebration of the National Day of Black Awareness gains new impetus. Since then, communities have been able to count on liturgical resources to gather in worship and celebrate the National Day of Black Awareness. The conclusion is that celebrating the National Day of Black Awareness can contribute to making Christian communities more attractive and inclusive.
