EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND ANTI-RACISM AT THE CROSSROADS OF THE AFRICAN DIASPORA IN SOUTHERN BRAZIL

When presenting records of children's speeches, students of Early Childhood Education, collected from reports of activities carried out by UNIAFRO students, a course on the Policy for the Promotion of Racial Equality at School, promoted by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, are shared reflections on the challenges that are posed to the proposition of Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER) and of Anti-racist Education in the scope of Early Childhood Education from the Pedagogy of the crossroads. In the development of the text, the importance of recognizing the impacts of the whitening ideology on Brazilian society is highlighted and the dimensions of Anti-Racist Education and ERER are discussed. Finally, it concludes with the outline of the elements considered fundamental for the adoption of a teaching attitude committed to the fight against racism at school.
