The feast and the rituals celebrated by the Africans and their descendents, mainly the quilombolas, from the colonial and imperial period unitil the current days represent a significant cultural heritage of African origin. They are carried out, from the cultural, folkloric and religious Afro-Brasilian feast such as the one devotion to Nossa Senhora do Rosário and São Benedito, to Carnival, Candomblé, Afoxés, Jongos, etc. In the quilombos gaúchos the celebrations in honor of many saints of catholic devotion and of black patrons predominate, besides the Ensaios de Promessa, the Quicumbis and Maçambiques.
