CROSSROADS AND PUBLIC POLICIES OF PORTO ALEGRE
WHERE WE WHITES KEEP OUR RACISMS?
Keywords:
Crossroads, Public policy, Porto Alegre, RacismAbstract
The present work brings an analysis of the intertwining between anti-racist policies, social movements, and racisms hidden in the practices of public managers. Based on the experience of a Nucleus of Anti-racist Policies at the City Hall of Porto Alegre / RS and the professional trajectory of a white public servant, we sought to demonstrate the variety of issues involved in the process of anti-racist public policies, inaccessible by logic and reason. The idea of the study is to show some crossroads present at a certain historical moment in the city, involving different institutions, actors, scenarios, and power disputes.
