ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL RACISM
COLONIALITY AND EXCLUIDING MODERNITY IN BRAZIL
Keywords:
Coloniality and modernity, Racism, Capitalism, EducationAbstract
This text seeks to discuss the conditions for the construction of processes of inequality in education arising from the exploitation of slave labor in the Americas, and especially in Latin America and Brazil. It is proposed to carry out a critical analysis of Coloniality and Modernity with regard to the process of social exclusion and the denial of access to knowledge for these populations throughout history. It highlights the origins of both social exclusions, under the economic aspect, as well as the cultural and ideological aspects that justified the exploitation of indigenous and black labor in the formation of Europe and the indelible consequences that marked the current conditions of the Latin American populations and, especially Brazilian. The methodology that served as the path for the construction of this text is based on the dialectical process of interpreting social phenomena from the texts of recognized authors on the subject addressed.
