This Study is part of an Ethnographic-based survey where a specific social group, the People of Santo, was investigated. The article presents how the praxis of the Peoples of Terreiro from a historical, religious, and social dimension that is anchored in ancestry, in the body and in the territory, contributes to the promotion of an ecologically balanced environment. The study was carried out in the semi-arid hinterland of the states of Bahia and Pernambuco. The data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with religious leaders from Terreiros located in the municipalities of Juazeiro/BA and Petrolina/PE.
