LIVING LIBRARY OF RELIGIONS OF AFRICAN MATRIX
THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL REFLECTIONS
Keywords:
Living library of religions of African Matrix, Memory, Social memory, Afro-Brazilian ReligionsAbstract
The article presents the theoretical and methodological reflections on memory of religions of African origin with the main objective of developing the conceptual outlines of Biblioteca Viva, as well as its methodological procedures for its production. The theoretical and methodological discussion is inspired by the ideas of researchers such as Maurice Halbwachs, Édouard Glissant, Amadou Hampaté Bâ, Mogobe Ramose, Renato Noguera, Beatriz Nascimento, Luiz Rufino in a multi-epistemological perspective. The Living Libraries of the African Matrix Religions are formed by the memory of the initiates of the terreiro communities. The Biblioteca Viva Sessions are meetings of initiates of religions of African origin to talk about memories produced from their experiences in terreiro communities for an audience formed by researchers, students of all ages and people from other religious backgrounds. During the sessions, the memorial narratives can be transformed into written narratives using the methodological procedure of transcreation.
