Repositories of Central African memory, predominantly graphic, the Black Kingdoms show the intersection of the cultures, traditions, and religiosities of the Bantu people with other codes and symbolic systems, weaving a unique Afro-Brazilian identity. However, the Western rationality model, which guides the so-called “hegemonic” culture, ignores and disables non-Eurocentric knowledge and knowledge, leading to the epistemicide of these worldviews. This text, elaborated from a participatory methodology, articulated between science and the religious phenomenon, proposes to analyze how the abyssal lines that underlie modernity (colonialism, capitalism, and patriarchy) cross the experience of the Guard of Mozambique of Nossa Senhora do Rosário from Pompéia, inserted in the most populous neighborhood of the capital of Minas Gerais, presenting the ubuntu philosophy as an emerging paradigm.
